Jackathon Jams: Waifs & Strays vs Lukas & DJ Sneak

Jackathon Jams 04 - DJ Sneak

Words from Less Than 3.

Last year, house music queen bee Heidi introduced the world to Jackathon Jams, her very own twisted music creation that grew from an event series to a very powerful house music label. Now, four volumes later, Miss Heidi continues to prove why she can play among the big boys. The series kicked off featuring power-players like Maya Jane Coles, Miss Kittin, Alexis Raphael, and Jimmy Edgar, and now the latest installment pulsates with back-to-back magic presented by Bristol dream-team Waifs & Strays versus Lukas and Chicago legend DJ Sneak.

On the A-side, Gimme Luv is loaded with a hazy disco bassline and quirky effects that adorn the track’s slow-slung groove. For a warped twist, look to Gimme Luv (Stokes Croft Dub) for a freestyle funk feel complete with warm, warping tones. Sneak’s identifiable “Chicago bad-boy” sound shines through Sneak’s House Gangster Boogie Mix, an uptempo, garage-style take on the original. Look to the B-side for heavy-lows, soul claps, and a ’90s style female vox found on Dance Me (Dance You).

Be sure to pick up these four very funky, brand new productions to groove to, out now on Jackathon Jams.
